NSW Attorney General Announces Review of Child Abuse Civil Litigation Laws

The NSW Attorney General, the Hon Mark Speakman SC, has announced the release of a consultation paper on the civil litigation recommendations of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.

The paper examines the Royal Commission’s remaining recommendations to hold institutions accountable for child abuse and to remove the barriers faced by victims when making civil claims and identifying a proper civil defendant.

Submissions are due on 4 September 2017. The consultation paper can be found here
