Bar FC kick off the 2016 season

Tue Apr 26 2016

Under clear blue skies, Bar FC commenced the season with a 1-1 draw against Sydney Business School (SBS) in the Domain Soccer League today. Against the team who eliminated Bar FC in last years semi in a penalty shoot out, Bar FC shot to the lead early following a clinical penalty struck by Bedrossian. With Hartford Davis leaving at half time to attend to his leader, a reshuffle in the midfield saw Jonathan Clark, d’Arville and Canceri working hard against a determined SBS. A well struck free kick outside the area saw the scores levelled with 10 minutes to go. The last 10 saw end to end attack with both teams trying to win – Bar FC were indeed unlucky not to take all three points.

The team welcomed Ben Kremer to the team who has dusted off the boots after 19 years away.

The team today was as follows:

  • Faraz Maghami
  • Vahan Bedrossian
  • Sebastian Hartford Davis
  • Darren Covell
  • Ivan Griscti
  • Jonathan Clark
  • Matt Vickers
  • Lachlan Gyles SC
  • Adrian Canceri
  • John Harris (GK)
  • Nicole Compton
  • Ben Kremer
  • Colin Magee
  • Anais d’Arville

Our next game is on Thursday, 5 May at 1.15 pm. Please note the date in your diary. For all those interested in joining the team, please email David Stanton at d.stanton@mauricebyers.com to be added to the team mailing list.

Special call-over at Parramatta District Court

Tue Apr 26 2016

In view of the significant backlog of District Court trials, a special call-over will be conducted for trials listed at Parramatta District Court during the week commencing 30 May 2016. Practitioners will be aware that it is often the case that, in the period immediately before a trial commencement date, prosecution and defence trial counsel discuss and resolve matters appropriately without need for a trial. The purpose of the special call-over is to identify such matters earlier and, for this purpose, the DPP has allocated resources for such discussions to occur prior to the special call-over.

If you wish to have a matter included at this call-over please contact Rob Fornito, criminal listing director on 9287 7322.
